Sarah grew up in England and came to the United States for graduate studies at U Chicago School of Social Service Administration and later at Harvard. A researcher at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, she studied family life and child rearing on four continents and has authored many books. After summering on MDI for several years, she and her husband, Bob LeVine, bought a camp on Toddy Pond in 1996 and, when Bob Jones founded the TPA two years later, they became members of the board. Sarah wrote for the Newsletter, hosted potluck suppers, edited A History of Toddy Pond (1st edition 2008; 2nd Edition 2016), and eventually became coordinator of the Courtesy Boat Inspection program. She is vice president of the Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust in Orland, Maine and in Massachusetts, where she lives in winter, she works with people seeking asylum in the United States.
