As regular guests at Camp Nokomis in the 1940's, Lucy's grandparents built their own cabin on South Toddy Pond in 1947, the year she was born. The only summers she has missed on Toddy were the years her Air Force family were stationed overseas or when riding her horse across the country and back in the 1970's. Surry became Lucy's permanent residence around 1983 ( referred to by some as "base camp"), and since 2002, her home is a tiny cabin on the fringe of the "Leaf family compound". Simple living has allowed a come and go lifestyle, with psychiatric nursing her longest held profession. Conservation and volunteerism have kept her busy the last two decades, including her most recent passion, Invasive Plant Patrol. Toddy Pond has always been "home", even when away from home, and now she considers it the only place to be.
